Hebrew Academy Miami, an Orthodox Jewish day school in sunny Miami Beach, is seeking a Middle School Torah Studies teacher who will also serve as the Director of Student Activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a meaningful and engaging learning environment for students in the areas of Gemara for both boys and girls, as well as developing and coordinating a comprehensive student activities program. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Torah studies in an Orthodox Jewish day school setting, a passion for Jewish education, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver effective Torah studies lessons that align with school curriculum standards and objectives.
Instruct students in the areas of Gemara, providing explanations and insights that enable students to understand and appreciate the texts.
Develop and implement assessment strategies that measure student progress and inform instructional practices.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and student engagement.
Develop and coordinate a comprehensive student activities program that promotes student involvement, leadership, and socialization.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Jewish values and teachings into the student activities program.
Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as sports, clubs, and field trips.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, classroom policies and expectations, and student activities.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Jewish studies or related field or three years school experience.
Teaching certification and experience in Torah studies instruction required; experience in an Orthodox Jewish day school setting preferred.
Knowledge of Gemara and Chumash.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
